WHAT IS FLOWER POLLEN EXTRACT?

Pollen is created when plants produce flowers. It is the male germ seed (sperm) of plants. Pollination occurs when the pollen is carried by bees, butterflies, wind, or other means from the flower's stamen to the stigma of another flower's pistil.

Fertilization results when the pollen reaches the pistil, the "ovary" of the plant. This is when a seed is created. Without this process there wouldn't be any plant life on earth -- flowers, fruits, vegetables, trees, etc.

Pollen is microscopic. So small it would take almost 10,000 pollen grains to cover the size of your thumbnail. Each grain has an almost impenetrable outer shell. On the inside of this shell or husk is where the nutrients are found.

Think of a seed (such as sunflower seed) or a nut that has an outer shell with the “meat” or other nutrients inside.

Each pollen grain has tiny germinal opening called hilas. These openings are used by the seed to bring forth sprouts.

Bees collect pollen from plants, then bring it back to the hive. Bees have a special structure of their mouths and unique enzymes to penetrate the hilas in the hard outer shells of pollen and remove the rich nutrients inside. Bees use this nutritive substance to make honey, royal jelly, propolis, and other materials used in the hive.

Flower pollen extract is just these inside nutrients, not the outer shell. Whereas bee pollen is the whole pollen grain, outer shell included.

When you eat bee pollen it is like swallowing whole walnuts or pecans including the shells. Even though you have digestive juices secreted by the stomach lining and the pancreas, the enzymes they contain could not fully break down the outer shells to get to the nutrient rich nut inside. You would then excrete the walnuts or pecans fully intact. Little or no nutrients would have been absorbed into your system.

Eating flower pollen extract, on the other hand, is like eating just the nut inside of a walnut or pecan with the hard outer shell removed. Your system gets the full benefit of the nutrients inside.

 

More About The Difference Of Flower Pollen Extract From Bee Pollen

Bees collect pollen from any flower they choose. They then go through man-made traps that scrape the pollen off their legs into a container. We feel this to be unkind.

These traps can be contaminated by fungus, bacteria, insect eggs, mites, rodent hair, droppings, and debris, as well as other contaminants. Also, the bee itself can get caught in the trap and tear off a leg or a wing.

Our Flower Pollen is gathered mechanically from pollution-free, pest-free, chemical-free fields of specially grown plants with NO weed killers or fertilizer.

Bees don't have this quality control since they go anywhere they want. They may visit fields that were chemically treated.

Further, since bee pollen contains the hard outer shell, people can be allergic to it. These outer shells have ridges all over them. which trap fungi and dirt. This is what can make you sneeze and have teary eyes when you come in contact with pollen through the air.

Since flower pollen extract does not contain these irritating contaminants, it does not trigger allergic reactions.

 

Why Should I Take Flower Pollen Extract?

Flower pollen contains nearly every known nutrient, everything needed to sustain plant life. It must be considered the purest possible food.

Since the beginning of time, flower pollen has been the perfect food source. It is mentioned in Genesis 1:29.

There is no “multi vitamin" on the market that contains the hundreds of substances found in flower pollen. Most only contain 20 to 30 nutrients. Nearly all of the vitamins manufactured today contain synthetic chemicals. Even thought they may be labeled “natural”, they are often made with chemical ingredients, sometimes derived from petroleum.

Some vitamin components are synthesized from petroleum into molecular structures that can be used as "pharmaceutical grade" vitamins. These "multi-vitamin” products are biologically dead, not “natural”, not bonded to enzymes like nutrients found in food. They pale in comparison to the truly all natural flower pollen.

There are a few companies (out of hundreds), that “grow” algae, yeast or other microscopic plants in stainless steel drums, feeding them synthetic nutrients to form what they call "natural" vitamins.

Flower pollen is truly natural, and contains many times more nutrients than even those “multi vitamins” do.

The body needs every one of these nutrients found in flower pollen to sustain a healthy life. When your body is lacking in these nutrients, some very bad things can happen.

How Much Flower Pollen Extract Should I Take?

We recommend three to six tablets daily, one or two before each meal. If you are feeling tired or “down” in the mid-afternoon, take a couple of tablets with a glass of water for a "nutritious snack.” Before working, exercising or any other activity, you can take three to five tablets for an endurance booster.

 

My Personal Experience With Pollen

In the early 1980's I met a couple from southern Ohio at a natural health convention where I was speaking, who had developed a special bee pollen trap that was situated at the top of the bee hive and kept their collected pollen cleaner than other sources.

I arranged to market their higher quality bee pollen under my own label as "Jonathon Miller's Pure Gold Bee Pollen". I sold it to local health food stores here in Ohio. After a couple of years, my source went out of business, but I did not pursue bee pollen any longer.

In 1984, Cernitin America introduced the U.S.A. to the Swedish Flower Pollen Extract from mechanically-collected pollen, not taken from bees. I became a successful distributor of their products. Cernitin America was an Ohio subsidiary of AB Cernelle of Sweden which had developed the world-renowned extract in the 1950's.

Cernitin had endorsement agreements with several well-known athletes, including some NBA stars, Olympic women's gymnasts, and their gymnastics coach, Bela Karolyi. My friend, Stacy Smallenberger, former NCAA gymnast and champion of men's rings, was a key connection there.

Cernitin America had a heyday for a few years, then faded somewhat with management problems.

In the 1990's I was part owner of a company that marketed an improved flower pollen extract from Sweden in formulation with other healthful herbs. One of my partners was Dr. B. P. Pooviah, biochemist and the former research director of Cernitin America. Before that he had a similar position at Shaklee Corporation; and previous to that he worked at General Foods and helped develop "Tang", the dehydrated citrus product, for the U.S. astronaut program.

Our products were very good, and we had a number of satisfied customers. However, we did not have adequate capitalization for our company, and eventually the five partners went our separate ways.

The flower pollen extract we now offer is actually much cleaner and vastly improved over the original Cernitin Swedish product, which used chemical solvents in the extraction process and which was effected by fallout from the Chernobyl nuclear disaster in 1986.
